The Hercules Art|Studio Program was co-founded by Claire Weisz and Andrea Woodner to encourage and enable talented emerging artists to pursue their careers in New York. It provides seven subsidized private work studios, shared exhibition and meeting spaces, and full amenities to selected artists on a two year basis.
In addition to pursuing their own studio work, the artists are responsible for organizing exhibitions and convening engaged dialogues, critiques and reviews as part of their tenancy.
Hercules Artists are selected biannually by jury from the graduating classes of MFA programs in and around New York. Seven top graduates from Hunter, Columbia, Rutgers, and Pratt now occupy space from 2023-2025 in the Hercules facility in lower Manhattan.
