“It is from here that the world unfolds”
Sophia Cleary
How does interpreting the world through our senses involve the imagination? How do I know things exist around me—how the table stands on four feet, how the feet touch the floor, how the chair next to the table folds up when it’s not in use, how the garbage can next to it is a hollow form, how the plant on the desk has tangled, deep roots. How can I accommodate the knowledge gleaned from my entire body, even as I remain oriented in one direction? "It is from here that the world unfolds" is a works-in-progress participatory lecture-performance that contends with the logic of seeing the world solely outward and forward-facing.
